ENIGMA

Demystifying enigmatic visitors of the near-Earth region

Asteroids Observations

Asteroid (10461) Dawilliams in the field of view of the telescope during observations performed on August 12, 2023. The observations were made with the 1.5-meter Milanković telescope at AS Vidojevica (MPC code C89).
The change in brightness of asteroid (10461) Dawilliams, obtained based on uncalibrated images.

One of our activities within the ENIGMA project includes photometric observations of asteroids. The majority of observations will be conducted using 1.4 and 0.6-meter telescopes at the Astronomical Station on Vidojevica, near Prokuplje. Additionally, in collaboration with colleagues from Spain, we will also use a 1.5-meter telescope at the Sierra Nevada Observatory for a number of observations.

The primary goal is to observe asteroids that potentially rotate very quickly around their spin axis, with the aim of constructing their light curves. Based on these, we plan to precisely determine their rotation periods.
