The Asteroid Families Portal (AFP) is an online platform that provides tools and information to study asteroid families.

  • 13 Feb 2024 - The list of journal papers on asteroid families has been updated

  • 13 Dec 2022 - The family membership catalogues have been updated

  • 25 Sep 2022 - The new proper elements update has been delayed due to technical issues. It is expected to be completed by 10 Oct 2022

AFP currently provides the following functionalities:

  • Application of the Hierarchical Clustering Method (HCM) to identify members of an asteroid family
  • Application of an automatic procedure to obtain a list of family interlopers
  • Application of the Backward Integration Method (BIM) to estimate age of an asteroid family
  • Proper orbital elements of numbered asteroids and active asteroids
  • A list of the pear-reviewed papers on asteroid families
